Match Highlight - Ms. Rui and Nicholas

What began as weekly visits through the University of Houston chapter has grown into a deep friendship built on curiosity and care for Ms. Rui and Nicholas. Nicholas enjoys sharing stories from his physician shadowing experiences, the different specialties he's explored, and his journey toward medical school, while Ms. Rui always offers encouragement and enjoys hearing about the exciting milestones in his life. In return, she shares stories about her family, her granddaughter, and the moments that have shaped her own life, giving Nicholas a glimpse into her experiences and perspective.

Beyond medicine, their conversations include whatever is happening in their daily lives, from summer plans, upcoming semesters, and theater outings to family updates, community events, and even everyday moments like a fresh haircut or catching up after a few busy weeks apart. Each visit is filled with laughter and thoughtful conversation. 

They've created a friendship that extends far beyond their differences in age, proving that meaningful connections are built through listening, sharing, and showing up for one another. Every conversation leaves them both with a new story, a fresh perspective, and something to look forward to at their next visit!
