Match Highlight - Mr. Dean and Zoe

Mr. Dean and Zoe started meeting through the University of Michigan chapter and have built a wonderful friendship through meaningful conversations, shared stories, and plenty of laughter. Zoe has loved hearing about Dean’s life, from looking through photos of his family and wedding to Doris to reading the memoir he wrote at her encouragement. They’ve also found plenty of things to bond over, including their shared experiences growing up with siblings, Zoe’s classes, and the anthropology course Dean helps with.

Their visits have also turned into a few fun projects of their own. They started building a LEGO cat together, returning to it during several visits and enjoying the process of figuring it out along the way. Zoe even joined Dean for his birthday celebration, where he shared that his family had surprised him with tickets to see the Detroit Tigers practice in Florida! They’ve talked about playing gin rummy in the future, continued working on their LEGO cat, and always seem to find something new to catch up on.

From family stories and old photos to LEGOs, birthdays, and everyday life, every visit brings something new for Dean and Zoe to share. We’re so excited to see what they work on next!
