Match Highlight - June, George, and Elena

Elena Gross is a current junior at the University of Michigan studying Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Elena first met June and George Rosentreter on January 14th, 2023, and has been visiting them every week since. They were originally matched for their love of spending time outdoors and traveling. After their instant connection at their first meeting, George emailed Elena inviting her to join him for lunch. The next week, the pair enjoyed a lovely meal together and continued to learn more about each other.

June and George both grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, but moved around to multiple states and raised their three children in Oxford, Mississippi. Both June and George talk fondly about their time together in New Orleans and Oxford, and enjoy sharing stories about growing up. George loves to crack long, elaborate jokes and always holds a straight face when delivering the punch line. Elena says, “At the beginning of our relationship, I couldn’t tell that George was joking because of his serious face. Now, after hearing countless jokes and sharing many laughs, I am accustomed to his silly demeanor.”

Elena feels extremely lucky to share friendship and learn valuable lessons from not only one, but two, pairs. She looks forward to their Thursday meetings, which are an opportunity to catch up and hear their insightful life stories. Describing the impact her pairs have had on her, Elena says, “June and George have taught me the importance of slowing down and taking time to reflect in my life. I deeply cherish our friendship and they have become an integral part of life.”

As this match continues to grow closer each week, they have even met each other’s families. Elena met 2 of George and June’s 3 children, and they met Elena’s parents and older brother. “I am eternally grateful to Perfect Pair for helping me find June and George and I can’t wait to continue growing our friendship”.
